Pokok Café, located in Masha Avenue, Petaling Jaya, is a popular destination for coffee, food, and desserts. The café is well-known for its glasshouse setting and cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal place for dining or catching up with friends.
Pokok KL Café, known for providing a cozy atmosphere for their customers, has recently faced challenges related to Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and energy consumption.
Key concerns include elevated CO2 levels and high concentrations of PM2.5 particles, particularly during peak hours. These issues have led to noticeable discomfort among both customers and staff, directly impacting the overall experience. Additionally, the increase in energy costs has been a concern, driving the café to explore better efficiency measures.
Daikin introduced advanced IAQ and energy-efficient solutions at Pokok Café.
Daikin Heat Reclaim Ventilator (VAM) is installed to regulate CO2 levels by supplying fresh air and added the Daikin Streamer Duct Chamber (SDC) to filter out PM2.5 particles and contaminants before the air enters the indoor space.
To cut energy use, the café’s air conditioners were upgraded from non-inverter to Daikin’s inverter models.
Heat Reclaim Ventilator (VAM1000HVE) x 1 unit
Streamer Duct Chamber (BDEZ500A140VE) x 1 unit
Inverter Ceiling Cassette Air-conditioners (FCFC71AV1MF) x 6 units
Daikin’s Heat Reclaim equipped with an optional a CO2 sensor continuously monitors and controls CO2 levels, effectively keeping them below 1000ppm at Pokok KL Café. This aligns with the Industry Code of Practice on Indoor Air Quality 2010 (ICOP IAQ 2010), which recommends maintaining CO2 levels under 1000ppm.
Daikin’s Streamer Duct Chamber effectively removed PM2.5 particles from the air, leading to a 44% reduction in PM2.5 levels.
Switching to Daikin’s inverter air conditioners resulted in an average 40% reduction in energy consumption. Along with the GO DAIKIN app, which is the Daikin’s smart control app, this helps Pokok KL Café optimize both comfort and energy savings.
Data collected shows Improvement of CO2, PM2.5 and Energy Consumption at Pokok Café with Daikin’s Inverter AC, VAM and SDC installed.
