In line with this year’s World Ozone Day theme, “Montreal Protocol: Advancing Climate Action,” Daikin Malaysia, in partnership with the Department of Environment (DOE), proudly launched the “Sustainable You” book at a ceremony held on 10 Oct 2024 at KL Convention Centre.
The event was officiated by Dato’ Wan Abdul Latiff Bin Wan Jaffar, Director-General of the Department of Environment, Mr. Lawrence Song, Managing Director of Daikin Malaysia Sales & Service Sdn Bhd, and Daikin Brand Ambassador Dato’ Azizulhasni Awang. The launch marked a significant milestone in raising environmental awareness, particularly among the younger generation.
The “Sustainable You” book serves as a comprehensive educational guide addressing critical environmental topics such as climate change, carbon footprints, and air pollution. Designed to inspire meaningful action, the book encourages the next generation to understand and take responsibility for environmental issues, making it a vital tool in the fight against climate change.
As part of Daikin’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, this initiative reflects the company’s dedication to working closely with government bodies like the DOE to promote sustainable practices and build a greener future for all.
In addition to explaining the science behind climate change and air pollution, the book also provides clear steps on how individuals can make a difference. This includes energy-efficient practices, responsible waste management, and advocacy for cleaner technologies. The goal is to show young readers that small actions, when multiplied, can have a big impact.

The collaboration with Daikin on this project aims to raise awareness among youth about embedding sustainability into Malaysian culture. As part of Daikin’s broader CSR, the launch of this book also highlights the industry’s commitment to environmental preservation and social responsibility.
