November 19th 2018, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Daikin Malaysia (DAMA) today has announced the sponsorship of seven bright and young students under the Daikin Malaysia Scholarship Program that has been established since 2012. Ever since then, Daikin has successfully sponsored 22 scholars with the sponsorship amount totaling up to approximately RM700,000. Furthermore, 12 scholars that have graduated are currently working in the different sectors of Daikin Malaysia ranging from R&D, Manufacturing to Sales & Marketing.
“At Daikin, we always regard human resources as our greatest asset. Through this program, we aim to provide support for needy students with good academic results while at the same time who are also active in their extracurricular activities to pursue tertiary education in Malaysia. Apart from receiving financial support, the scholars will also have the opportunity to participate in our internship program during every long semester break, that sets the foundation for them to gain practical on-the-job training, understanding of the Company’s business operations through job rotation, exposure to Daikin Group corporate culture and most importantly, kick-start their career way ahead compared to their peers.” said Angeline Lee, Head of Regional Human Resource, ASEAN Emerging District (AED) of Daikin Group.
Under this corporate social responsibility initiative, Daikin intends to offer students with a valuable opportunity to achieve their academic dreams by not only lessening their worries from the financial aspect of their education but also, preparing them to take on the working world with quality working experience from their internship program.
